It's been awhile since I've written anything because life has been so so crazy. Can you all believe that I've been to 6 weddings this year??? 6, and I'm still not done with two more to go. Let's just say that between bridal showers, bachelorette parties, weddings, and other life events the busy life caught up to me and now I'm out for the count. I'm on day three of being ill and I am craving anything other than soup and crackers.
Which leads me to this post! We all know that my sweet tooth is something serious and I've been dreaming out desserts the last few days. I'm pretty sure the first thing I'll eat once I'm all better is a huge brownie..yum!!!
I wanted to share with you some of my favorite places in the Indy area to grab something sweet and enjoy a little sugar high.
The Cake Bake Shop
This should come at NO surprise if you follow me on social media. My Instagram page is filled with pictures of the most delicious cakes this place has to offer. A quaint little house in Broad Ripple turned into a high-end bakery is what dreams are made of. The owner of this shop does a great job making sure it is an experience you won't forget. It is always beautifully decorated and you can tell a lot of thought goes into every detail. Some may think the prices are a bit high, but you get your monies worth with large portions and a warm atmosphere.
Not only is this one of my favorite places to grab dinner, but they have one of my favorite desserts on their menu. Another Broad Ripple gem, SoBro Cafe creates some of the most amazing dishes with natural locally grown ingredients. This Nutella filled crepe, topped with powdered sugar and strawberries is one of my go to items every single time I dine in. This is a place you'll want to check out if you haven't. Trust me!
Harry & Izzy's
Brownies are probably my favorite, especially when they are presented like a sundae. Harry & Izzy's signature brownie is one of the best and, it's only $8. WHAT?? It is handmade served with vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, caramel, pecans, whipped cream and topped with a cherry. After you indulge in the infamous shrimp cocktail, and a huge steak, why not treat yourself to this chocolate mound of goodness.
Woodys Library Restaurant
I love this place! A library turned restaurant in the Carmel Arts District is right up by alley. The bison meatloaf is to die for, and I never even liked meatloaf until I had it here. It's seriously a game changer. The desserts though, because that's the best part of a meal right? Two of my favorites here are the creme brule and surprise surprise their Mississippi mud brownie. If you go on a Saturday you can get a dessert duo for just $4, which includes a smaller size of each one.
I could list at least 5 more places, but these are some of my all time favorites. If you take some time to check any of these places out I would love to hear about what you got. Have a favorite dessert spot? Drop a comment and share it with us!
